Mayan Clothes
The Mayan people were undoubtedly one of the most colorful and intricately adorned civilizations of the Americas. Today, Mayan clothes are still worn by Guatemalan people, although many members of society wear American clothing.
Mayan clothing was simple; because of the warm climate, Mayan clothes were not necessary to protect the wearer from the elements. Mayan men wore a breechcloth (though today shorts or pants are more common) along with a colorful woven shirt. Mayan clothes for women were more ornamental, usually including a colorful woven blouse, wrap around skirt, and a sash at the waist. Mayan clothes are simple and beautiful.
