Guatemalan Shirts

Guatemalans are famous for their brightly colored hand-woven textiles.  The Mayans made their clothing by hand from yarn for centuries, and Guatemalans do the same thing today.  Traditional Guatemalan shirts are usually hand-woven into clothing which is simple in form and silhouette.  Guatemalan shirts are usually woven into complex geometric patterns or stitched into incredibly intricate floral designs.  Men will often wear sleeveless Guatemalan shirts or plain white shirts, which are sometimes dyed with bright colors.  Women will wear beautifully designed Guatemalan shirts with sleeves near the elbow and high collars.  Guatemalan shirts are often accessorized with a colorful sash around the waist.
