Guatemalan Men's Clothes
Guatemalan men’s clothes have evolved quite a bit since the days of the Mayan civilization. Mayan men often wore a breechcloth or a loincloth and a sleeveless woven shirt. Today, Guatemalan men’s clothes much more closely resemble modern Western fashion. Guatemalan men’s clothes usually consist of shorts of pants, colorful woven shirts, vests, capes, or even jackets, sashes tied around the neck, and sometimes a hat. Guatemalan men’s clothes reflect Mayan roots, however, through the textiles used. Guatemalan fashion is defined by hand-woven textiles with intricate geometric patterns or stitched designs. Guatemalan men’s clothes might reflect American fashion in form, but the colors and designs are clearly Guatemalan.
