Guatemalan Children's Clothes

Guatemalan fashion has remained essentially unchanged for generations, and many indigenous people proudly wear their traditional clothing even as much of the country becomes urbanized and Westernized.

Guatemalan children’s clothing is mostly the same as Guatemalan adult clothing, only smaller and perhaps less decorative, unless for special occasions.  Guatemalan children’s clothing for boys will usually be shorts or pants with a woven shirt and perhaps a sash, cape, or hat.  Guatemalan children’s clothing for girls will usually be a colorful woven shirt, skirt, and sash for the waist.  Girls will usually wear their hair braided, and both boys and girls will typically wear sandals.
